What is Mulled Wine?

Mulled wine is delicious spiced wine served warm.

Why is Your Mulled Wine Mix Better?

First, it is delicious but here are the main reasons it is better that others:

  • Lasts three years - longer than natural spices
  • Super fast - heat wine, add mix, & stir
  • It's as easy to make 1 serving as 20 (or 50)
  • No tools required.  No tea ball, no tea bags, etc.  Just a mug, your wine, and a spoon (all things you need for ANY mulled wine).

What is Gluhwein?

Gluhwein (pronounced "glue-vine") is German mulled wine and is our preferred variety.  Mulled wine goes by numerous names (see below), depending on which country you are in, from, or just visited and it is all very similar.

What kind of wine should I use?

Red wine is used most commonly to make gluhwein. Whatever you want.  Most people use red but white tastes really nice, too, and is fairly common in Switzerland and a few other places.

TIP:  Use cheap wines because they usually have more sugar than other wines and make excellent gluhwein.

Is it really all-natural?

Absolutely. It is all natural and has no preservatives.

How many servings per bottle?

Servings Per Bottle

  • 250 ml:  12.5 servings per bottle
  • 375 ml:  19 servings per bottle
  • 750 ml:  38 servings per bottle

Should it be refrigerated?

No.  In fact, it is better to keep your gluhwein syrup mix at room temperature.  Store it like honey or pancake syrup.

I heard gluhwein goes by other names.  What are they?

Sort of.  There is some version of gluhwein or mulled wine in most (maybe every) country.  Aside from small regional differences, they are basically all the same.  Examples:

  • Mulled Wine - US and UK
  • Vin Chaud - France
  • Vin Brule - Italy
  • Glogg (pronounced "gloog") - Sweden
  • Vin Fiert - Romania
  • Forralt Bor - Hungary
  • Gluhwein - German
  • There are others...
  • If you know others, email us.
